The StreamModule chatbot answers your chat commands from the Twitch account StreamModule. It works without extra rights, but making it a moderator in your channel is strongly recommended.
Why make it a moderator?
- Faster, reliable replies. Twitch limits how often non-moderators may chat. As a moderator the bot is not slowed down when chat is busy.
- Works with chat modes. Slow mode, followers-only and subscribers-only chat do not block the bot's replies.
- Links get through. Replies with a link, such as !discord or !so, are not removed by your link filter or held by AutoMod.
Option 1: from your chat
Type this in your own Twitch chat (you need to be the broadcaster):
/mod streammodule
Twitch confirms it with a message in chat.
Option 2: from the Creator Dashboard
- Open your Creator Dashboard → Community → Roles Manager.
- Click Add New.
- Search for
streammodule, choose Moderator and click Save.
Check that it worked
Type a command, for example !lurk. The bot's reply now shows the green sword (moderator) badge next to StreamModule.
What the bot does with moderator rights
Nothing more than before: it only answers your chat commands. StreamModule never bans, times out or deletes messages, and it does not ask Twitch for permission to do so.
Remove it again
/unmod streammodule
To stop the chatbot completely, turn off your commands on the Chatbot page or disconnect Twitch under Settings → Connections.
